On the other hand, SImon has adjusted veyr well to the fact that we leave for work. But he gets very lonely when Ryu needs to go on uber overtime. It's heartwarming to be welcomed home by him though <3

Oh, and he's addicted to hooooomaaaan fuuuuud! Le gasp! Especially Lucky Me Pancit Canton. HAHAHA!

I nearly had to fly my way home just to catch the rerun of this match. When I got home, it was the V. Williams def S. Stosur match, second set. *sigh* Good timing! Haha. With the score of 6-3 6-0 6-3, Roger's first round match came and went so fast that I had to eat my dinner in front of the TV.

Anyway, Roger looked mighty fine: clean-shaven, GLORIOUS hair (yes, I dare use that adjective to describe it), in the kit that matched the color of Ana's skirt (lulz). And unlike his other matches, he was standing up straighter and just overall, he looked relaxed. Maybe it's the pressure of being #1 off of him.

Speaking of that, it's interesting to me how the eyes of people are STILL on him even if he's not number one anymore. The commentators aren't very critical or vocal about Rafa during his match. They just watched and praised his shots, nitpicked his unforced errors. Idk, their personal bias bleeding in maybe. (It's a hella good thing that it wasn't MATS WILANDER who was commentating Roger's match. It's supposed to be him but Mathieu's match went the distance.) They were talking about how it's still all eyes on Federer, waiting to see what he will do, will he be #1 again, will be equal/surpass Sampras... even comparing him to McEnroe (who lost #1 at age 26 and never got it again) and Sampras (with 14 GS titles and basically comparing their games).

Their assessment of Roger before the match began was objective. He had suffered bad losses from lesser players and some that are not really bad - losing to Djokovic and Nadal. SF and F in the other Grand Slams ain't bad either. But yeah, by Federer's standards... it is haha. But remember, "the last time we saw this man on a tennis court was in Beijing. Victorious. GOLD MEDALIST in Men's Doubles event. This is a dangerous man," as the commentator said.

My one complaint during his past performances of the year so far was that his backhand lost some of its quality. It doesn't have the same pace and pop as before. Oftentimes, it finds the net or it has too much juice and goes out. But today (uh... tonight... WHATEVER), it was spot on. Sure it missed a couple of times but the *thwop* could be heard again from Roger's backhand, the pace was there, and most of all, the ACCURACY. I can't say much more about his serve with 10+ aces especially to get himself out of a hole, being 15-40 down twice to AD and then GAME.

He just looked sooooo good out there. (And I CANNOT get enough of his hair!) I really hope this is upwards from here. I hope he wins the US Open 2008. I feel that HE'S BACK at some level. He's getting there... getting his arsenal back together, his confidence getting a golden boost.

So yeah... good luck! Great match.

PS: is it just me or were Roger's shorts a bit on the TIGHTER side? (not that I'm complaining haha....)

I'm missing the coral-colored bubble skirt, honestly.   Her clothes don't match.  A white top, greenish gray skort, and coral and white wristbands.  *scratches head*  She has completely inherited Henin's shirt, where you can see the sports bra straps.
